e-CONSULTS are a way that I can offer what I love to doto ALL residents of Ontario.

 

I have a love and a passion for supporting couples in their fertility journey, helping women of all ages with ‘period problems’ and all other conditions affecting women’s health, supporting new moms with breastfeeding, treating children of all ages from newborns to adolescence, and of course treating people and their infamous digestive systems. What is an e-CONSULT?

In a nutshell, we connect from a distance from anywhere in Ontario using phone or video chat.

Once I realized that I could provide all of my services from a distance (with the exception of acupuncture – for obvious reasons), I decided to expand my reach so that I could help more people.

 

 

 

 – – – How Does an e-Consult Work – – –

 

1. BOOK YOUR e-CONSULT TO GET STARTED

  • Select a day and time that works best for you.
  • NEW patients, please select Initial e-CONSULT.
  • Please note that there are separate e-CONSULTS to indicate a specific interest as in Fertility, Breastfeeding or Pediatrics (for children less than 10 years old).
  • Alternatively, you can also email me (reneeparadis.nd@live.com) or give me a call (519.829.6011), I’d be happy to help you set up your e-CONSULT.

 

2. FILL OUT YOUR FORMS

  • Once you’ve booked your e-CONSULT, you will receive an email confirming your appointment + new patient forms to complete and submit prior to your appointment.
  • This form gathers general information about your current health concerns, health history, family history, lifestyle and more.

 

3. e-CONSULT #1:  GETTING TO KNOW YOU!

  • On the day and time of your e-CONSULT, I will contact you either via telephone or by video. The first e-CONSULT is a very important time to get to know what makes you YOU; your current health concerns, past medical history, lifestyle and nutrition that may influence your health and your family history.  This is also a time to collect reports of any lab testing or any other testing that has been done in the past year.

 

4. e-CONSULT #2: RECEIVE YOUR PLAN & GET STARTED!

  • In the week following your first e-CONSULT, I will thoroughly review all the information shared and any lab work or tests that have been done. I will then design an individualized treatment plan just for you!  This is also a good time to discuss any further blood work or specialty testing that may be beneficial.

 

5. FOLLOW UP e-CONSULTS:  The FINE-TUNING OF YOUR PLAN!

  • I typically like to check in with you for a follow-up appointment between 3-6 weeks after you’ve implemented your treatment plan. This is a good time to monitor progress, make necessary changes to your treatment plan, consider additional testing (if needed) and chat about any new health concerns that may arise.

 

 

Are e-CONSULTS safe?

e-CONSULTS are a great way to connect in a safe & efficient way!

They are a convenient way of providing you and your family with naturopathic care from the comfort and privacy of your home or any location of your choice.

Confidentiality remains of utmost importance, and the information that you share will always adhere to all privacy standards.

All e-consults are done using a secure telephone connection or video platform.  The choice is yours and both are excellent ways of connecting!

 

 

How do I get ready for my telephone or video e-CONSULT?

Telephone e-CONSULTS are simple – make sure you have a secure telephone line!

Video e-CONSULTS require you to be a bit more tech savy but rest assured the process is still easy!   First and foremost, please test your internet connection.  Then follow the instructions in the invitation email before your e-CONSULT and make sure that your camera, speaker and microphone work.

 

 

How do I purchase professional supplements if I don’t have access to a local health food store in my area?

No problem.  I use an amazing online dispensary called FULLSCRIPT that dispenses professional supplements for health practitioners in Canada.  Once we’ve discussed your treatment plan, you will then receive an email prescription with the professional supplements recommended.  Fullscript ships directly to your home or to any address specified by you.  It’s quick and it’s efficient providing you with quality supplements.

 

 

Can lab work and specialty testing be done from a distance?

Absolutely!  As a Naturopathic Doctor, all blood work ordered by me is done via Lifelabs.  Lifelabs have locations across Ontario and you can visit any one of them for your blood work.  You can visit Lifelabs to find a location near you.  Other specialty testing is also possible, and test kits would be mailed directly to you.

 

 

Are e-CONSULTS covered by insurance?

My services are not covered by OHIP.

However, naturopathic fees are covered by most extended health care providers.  You can call your provider directly to see the type or amount of coverage they offer for your plan.  After every e-CONSULT I will email you an invoice that you can then submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

 

 

How do I pay for an e-CONSULT?

e-CONSULTS are paid via credit card at the time of your appointment.
